1975 Apollo 22' rebuild underway.

 Hi guys, this is my first post.
  Quick preview:
  A 1975 Apollo 22' found the way to my hands last April. The wooden structure was in a bad shape, but the hull was great. I stripped it completely and started building it back up using polyurethane foam and polyester resin . I like it, it seems to be a good boat, it served almost 40 years as profetional crabbing boat at MN, so, to become a sport fishing boat at south Florida sound like a relaxing retirement.
 Picture will come next, have to make it smaller.

So you are not going to use wood again?

 Hi Rick:
At the point I am now, I had use marine ply only to do the transom, everything else is either foam fill or foam core lamination.  Happen that for some twist of faith the polyurethane foam comes free, and where I come from ( Cuba ) there is a sort tale: " If from the sky falls Lemmon on you, then you better learn to make lemmon juice ".

 I used free Delftship to recreate the final goal. This is what I came out with, and I am working forward.

Hi, FlatbackPaul, this are some pic about the Makin of the stringers. They are not perfect, but it will do the job. I haven'the foam filled yet.

Yeah Rick :
 I made your work mine too. It is simple way to do it and solid results. Although you never mentioned if you casted full length stringer, I went for it. It was a little heavier than yours due to the length. You know what ?  I even used the same cross section dimensions you used Makin yours, and it work just right.

In hind sight I wish I had made mine one full piece.  I made them 6 1/2' and butted them.  Then I ran full length 1708 with epoxy x 2 on the outside and x2 on the inside - she ain't going anywhere. 
You're right, nice and easy way  to do it.

  Hi every one:
 It's been a while since my last post. I had to perform mayor repairs at home, and been really busy at work, lot of OT . Although I kept working on the boat, I did not found the time to post. Said this it is time to update pictures.

 My wife, convince me to use part of the under deck space as storage, I decided to make it insulated storage, just in case i need them to be.


 
 I still need to finish to foam fill the stringers.

 All this time I've been working on the project, I wanted to use an outboard bracket. I had call some of them locally in MIA, but when I said the magic words " Curve transom " and " Higher flotation bracket ", BOOM, the price just double. I dear friend offered himself to fabricate it, but the SS or Al were not his every day metal of choice or/and expertise. I thank him and start looking for options.
I came across on the web with some manufacturer who build them using fiberglass and resin. Same story with the price. Them a co worker, who was part of an FL boat racing team, just tell me : Make it yourself, just make sure it is well made, I help you out. All I need it was a push, and so I made it.
 Here is d the result of the summer evening and few Sundays.






















 I am going to paint the boat and apply nonskid paint on the swim platform when finish building.
