Well, obviously a change, and I'm sure we'll get used to it.  Question, fellas...how do we alter our sig in our profile?  Didn't see that...and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi All,
Well, after a short hiatus we're back.  If you see anything out of the norm let me or CB know.
We set the "Blue Shame" theme as the default as we think it is the easiest to see everything on whatever device you use to access the site.  We do offer others for your use if you desire: At the top of this page you see your username and an Avatar to the left - if you click on the avatar, select "Profile".  This will bring up the Profile page and on the menu bar just above the "Summary" section you see some menu options. Hover over the "Modify Profile" and select "Look and Layout".  In the "Current Theme" section click "Change" and the other themes we've installed appear.  Disregard the images to the right as they seem to be bogus.
The "default" is Blue Shame.
In each of the themes there is a "Preview theme" option.  Clicking that will show you the colors and the layout of each.  The themes range from basic forum themes to the LightHat which is a high tech theme which allows me to add background pics that I can change at will.  This is my favorite theme but it may not be yours.  I think CB said Overviewlight is his favorite because of the columns.
Select the theme you want to use by selecting the "Use this theme" option.  Then click the Home or Forum menus on the menu bar to check out how the them looks and operates.  If it is not the theme for you, you can come back in and modify your profile until you find the one for you.  Let us know what you think about the themes - most are brand new.
Other things about your profile are available for your customization are found under the avatar beside your name at the top.

Enjoy and by all means let us know what you think.

A few things Members:

Moving the Forum over created all posts unread (since they are "new") so.......

You can remove the "new post (+)" by clicking on the "mark all post read" found located toward the lower right of the screen or you can just re-read them all  ::p:.

The Gallery forum is still a little wacky (hey it wouldn't be the Gallery) so bear with us on that.

Please check your member profile, I noticed my birthday was reset. Then again, some members prefer not to post their age.

There's a lot of new/different stuff here so take a little time to explore. It still works and looks similar to the old Forum but updated in its appearance and feel. For us older members, the default screen is a little easier on the eyes and the "column skin" is one I like for moving topics around.

It's a new year and a new look. Let us know what you find.

Good luck.

Ok CB, a couple things...

First, can you guys put the "joined date" back in our avatar area where it used to be?

Second, can you set up the sig box so that we can apply styles to our text...like it was before?

Third, can you bring back the old smilies, or is that a WIP?  I know on other forums I've set up, you have to individually add using the smiley code, so that can be time consuming.

And fourth, and most important, can you guys fix an issue I have seen on other Simple Machines based forums where, when a reply is made, the thread stays open, showing that reply, instead of going back to the forum, and we have to re-open the thread!  That is SO annoying!!!!!!!

Will let you know more...

Well I guess I should jump in here since CB can't do any of the items you mention.
1) I'll look into the join date.  I know that I cannot tell you your member number anymore because SMF assigns a random number that means nothing.
2) Let me look at the sig box - should accept the normal BBC code like before
3) I have a few smilie packages that I installed, I'll see if I can use the old one too - so a WIP.
4) Not sure but I'll look into it.
Thanks for the feedback

Dave is correct - just check the checkbox.  Thanks Dave :8):

As for the signature - looks like, unless I find a mod, you'll have to use BBC codes.  We're all going to have to dig around a little through this new stuff and help each other figure it out.  I am by no means a SMF expert but I sure like it better than phpbb.

Trying to upload an avatar from the iPad. Select choose photo, all is well it take a bit but the mini pic shows.. Then I hit change on the bottom right.. Screen goes white, loads forever, then screen goes white with the site logo at the top and no a avatar..

Thoughts?

Same picture loaded into the gallery but spun sideways and now I can not edit or delete it.  Poor Eddie is on his nose.. :-[

OK for the rest of us following along here, to remove the most annoying thing on the Forum will require sending SB to Banddcamp...... no wait........

Sorry, that's another story  8)

To correct having to reopen a thread after you post, please go to the "Look and Layout" portion of your Forum preferences and be sure that the box labeled : "Return to topics after posting by default." is checked. That will bring you right back to the same thread without reopening. SB is correct in that it is indeed annoying so be sure you check that box.

Still having problems with the Gallery. Not real sure what it's going to take but at least you're getting in. I haven't been able to access yet. I was able to change my avatar but I brought the pic in from PB. It did resize it automatically. I used the "direct" link(in PB) for this.

Dave, I've found when I go to change my profile, the first time I click on "submit" or "save changes" or whatever it is, I get a lot of error messages after the page finally loads.  I click the "back" button, then submit again and the change goes through fine, and quickly.  The errors have something to do with "headers", which I assume are forum headers...
