Unusual flatback sighting!
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:26:08 PM »
So, I was watching the Atlanta, Cincy game today and after it was in the 3rd quarter I realized there was no way Atlanta would win. I started surfing some of the other channels on the tube and came across a movie on Encore Westerns. It is called J. W. Coop and has Cliff Robertson and Geraldine Page in it. JW is a rodeo rider that ends up hitchhiking to the next rodeo. This is near the beginning of the movie maybe 1/3 of the way through. The second person that picks him up somewhere out west is the driver of a big rig. As they are riding along the driver suddenly goes "hey look at that an Aquasport 22-2, one of these days, one of these days". The camera then pans back to the view out the front of the truck as a flatback on a trailer passes the big rig! Anyway it is only a 2 second part of the movie and I was so surprised by what the guy said I glanced up just as the boat passed the truck. It does come on again tonight at 11:00. If you can, check it out!!!

Edit!!!!!!! I left out the coolest part out!!!!!   It has twins on it!!!!!

very cool Lew... in the "Aquasport Universe" you are sort of like the Sun.. exerting a gravitational field on all aquasports, and they are drawn towards you.  What are the odds of coming across that clip on a 40 year old movie  there is a force at work here  :thumleft:

It would be interesting to learn how that came about in the script. Did AS pay for the advertising? Pretty cool to think they were that highly revered to make it to a movie and be mentioned by name.

I'm kinda with Bruce here.  I'm betting one of the screen writers had an AS, figured out how to get it in the movie and the script...and somehow have some relavance...
