I/O engine bay stringer rebuild
« on: August 19, 2014, 11:24:12 PM »
Anyone have any pics of a removed engine tub and/or repaired set of stringers that the engine mounts too in an I/O?   Mine is a 1979 22-2 Family Fisherman.

We had a member who had planned on a rebuild of your model with I/O but unfortunately, he either never took on the project or just sold the boat. Been almost a year since he last posted.

You are encouraged to post pics of your project just for that reason. I'm sure you will receive a ton of direction on what to look for in the rebuild. A number of members have owned I/O powered craft of some sort and have a good working knowledge of same.

Good luck :thumleft:

I just tore apart a 222 I/O down to the stringers. Have seen a lot of 222 rebuilds but cannot find an I/O rebuild...anybody?  Thanx!

As I stated above, no not that I can recall.

Back then, it would have been great to get one.

Did the member actually do one.....who knows???? If he did, he never posted. Couldn't seem to get the hang of posting a photo in a thread. He stated he had tore out the transom but then just disappeared into the ether.

Now we have you who has again opened one up.

It sure would be nice if you started a rebuild thread and shared some insight along with a pic or two.

Any chance of that happening?

Good luck.
