1994 230 Osprey max HP/Weight
« on: August 13, 2014, 09:47:22 PM »
I have been thinking of a re-power for my 1994 230 Osprey as the old two stroke keeps giving me issues and I dont want to keep putting money into a 20 year old motor. The current motor is a 1994 suzuki DT 225. I cant seem to find any info on how much that motor weighs or how much weight the 230 will hold. Any Ideas??

Thanks.

Make sure to check our Photo Gallery.  This is what we have on the 230

It doesn't come right out and tell you max HP but does show you the engine options.  You might have dig for weights of the engines in the day - maybe NADA or iBoats has info on them?  I have the 250 Yammy on mine - I figure that baby has to weigh a good 500lbs.

I believe you have a 93. Here are the specs (same as a 92).

While it doesn't list a HP rating, your Osprey is the same hull as the 230 EX and the 230 EX became the 245 EX in 94 so..........

Max HP rating for a 94 245 EX is 300hp. The 245 is the 230 hull with a euro transom.

Good luck.
