FWIW, I removed the "Y" valve and did 2 separate lines.
One for the bait tank, one for the wash down.
For me and what I do,  a much better way to go.

Bryan,

Did you add a pump for that setup?  Trying to think how that would work with the Baitmaster pump I have with variable pressure dependant on open flow vs. pressurized.

Bruce, what I would do is add a dual port livewell pump on top of the shut-off valve, with the lower port feeding the washdown pump.  You'd have to run wiring for the new pump, or at least the positive lead.  You can terminate the pump's ground to the ground bus aft.

Thats what I thought Bob... I have the wiring back there from when the PO removed the factory macerator pump (could be leveraged for a dedicated bait well pump) and did not replace it.  I am still flirting with doing the "fish box mod" and putting a macerator pump back in. I absolutely hate the constant cleaning and draining issues that thing has.  Just not sold myself on the ROI yet...  I guess sooner or later I will get sick of it or just use it.  Right now my forward starboard coffin locker is sequestered for fish...all the chit just drains overboard.  Keeps ice fairly well too.  Had two bags last all day covering my beer on Saturday.  :thumright:

I just hate when things are done half-azz...  like cut the hose, pull the pump, let it drain into the bilge.   Its gonna drive me to drink... or put in a macerator pump!   :rambo:

Hey Bob - I was going to pick up one of these..  Mine is getting to be a real bear to turn.  Do you know if it's the 1 inch model or the 1.5 for my 245?  When I look at mine (pic below) the face plate seems to match the 1.5 version.  Thoughts?

This one right here Bruce, the model 94 with threaded ports...https://www.fisheriessupply.com/boswort ... t-threaded

We used 3/4" thread, 3/4" barbed fitting in the ports (look on the back side of yours, you'll see them).  Take your fittings out of the old valve, stick them in the new one... :thumleft:

Well all that conversation on Macerator pumps got me motivated.  Found a new (never used) Jabsco and made a deal for $60 off a guy on CL.  He met me on my way over to my GF's and bada bing.. done!  Now for the install!

AHHH I FEEL THE PO ITCH STARTING TO FADE!   :flower:

Quick Question... Where was the factory Macerator pump mounted on the 245 Osprey / Explorer?

Bruce, it wasn't a "macerator" pump...it was simply a little Johnson Controls livewell pump threaded into the drain fitting on the aft wall of the fishbox.  Wellcraft/Aquasports cheapa$$ improper way to empty a fishbox...

Thanks.. the drain line for that pump is just coiled up back there now so Im trying to figure out in my mind’s eye where to mount the Macerator.  It’s likely a little bigger that the orig pump and I need the existing drain line that connects to the through-hull to reach the new pump.  This has me perplexed sitting here in the office.  I have plenty of 1 1/2 inch hose (pump-in) that will mate up to the new drain I'm installing, just chewing on the other connection needed and influence on mounting location.   Gonna try to tackle this today after work.

Bob-Do you remember if the fishbox pump out through-hull is starboard or port?

Went to port, IIRC.  My suggestion for mounting position (simply 'cause it's easy compared to the alternative) is to mount it horizontally on the starboard stringer top when you look in and down from the starboard side access door.  Might have to move some harnessing a bit, but no big deal.

The alternative is to move the washdown/livewell pump vertically upward through the little door on the port side, then mount the macerator below it...should be room.  But plumbing it over there would be a PITA...
