anyone out there have any data on the oil burn for these Motors. I know the opti max has a great fuel and oil consumption but i have found one of these Yamaha 2.6l engines at at a descent price and thinking of putting it on the back of my 19-6 with full transom.

Depending on usage, figure 60:1 oil to gas

so for every 60 gals gas : 1 gal oil.?
That sounds about they same or worse than the HDPI 3.1 and 3.3 L.
Ive herd the OPTI MAX is wonderfull on oil, would you figure 120:1

I know my 250 HPDI definitely uses a lot more oil than my 96 model V-76 225 Yamaha, I think they upped the oil ratio in the early years to help with the powerhead issues, other than that I like my HPDI

They all run at least 50:1 if not more oil to gas, at around 4500 and higher, some lean out to 100:1 at idle, depends on brand and the way the link rod is adjusted on the pump.
