I would like to get members views on the below boat.

Anything standout that I should ask about or look for?

Test drive it , survey it , write a check, get a custom cover. This boat Is bad A$$. Am I missing something ? Or are those pics surreal? Some one that has more knowledge than me chime in? What kind of fishing could you do in this boat?

Beautiful ride.

Based upon the casting deck layout...have a good idea as to the builder.

Tampa Bay features great rebuilders of seventies 22-2 Aquasports. Some were famous...but  now, not so much. Some up and coming, but yet to be proven. Some, as on this ride, did a beautiful job. But may not be in the biz at present. Look past the eye candy, and do your due diligence on the builder.

Getting back to nuts and bolts...take a hard look where most folks don't. Beneath the deck.

Stringers...tabbing....layup...coring...tank install...rigging...routing....electrical.

She's a looker. And well worth the money if she measures up.

Stick your head beneath the deck during discussion/negotiation and ask specific questions.

Shows you know rebuilds. And the asking price may drop.

My opinion...buy it at the price advertised.  No ifs, ands, or buts.  Guaranty you, the work below decks is just as good as what you can see.

A LOT of work was put into that boat, and it shows.  A comparatively built Gause would run you double, and not be any better...

It is that! Taking a close look at the pics...there is some serious money in that build.

Love the console...looks like it was modeled after the upper station on a Rybo. Pompanette fighting chair, Ouality Top...wow.

Any idea what kind of shifter that is at the lower helm?

I don't have much experience with rebuilds but I plan to get into it. I am going to take this opportunity to ask a basic but big question:

What do you think the rebuilder has put ($) into this boat? Let's assume it was a good hull but the transom, stringers, and everything from then on up was completely redone and done correctly.

Depends on who did the work.  As far as the equipment, well, if he's a builder who has OEM type pricing, he'll save a bunch over what you or I would pay in regards to controls, engines, hardware, all that stuff.  The re-build work, stringers, transom, cockpit sole, once again, depends on who did the work.  But all in all, given his asking price, I'm betting he's got $37,750 to $40,000 in her.  Looking to clear $12.5K to $15K after sale.  $2500 wiggle room...

Great response Seabob. No nonsense and straight to the point.
Gives us greenhorns a good feel for what it takes.
Thanks.

3 hour sea trial today. This boat is incredible. The attention to detail is like nothing I have seen. I'm having the boat surveyed this week and also having the builder add a couple of goodies before we take delivery. We put the boat through her paces today. Skinny water, deep water, calm and rough. I'm very pleased to say it exceeded expectations and performed flawlessly.

From what I see,
I can tell you the asking price is fair.
If I was in the market, I would buy for the asking price.
No point arguing about a couple of thousand at that price.
Just my opinion.

BTW, do we know the builder and his reputation?
