I am enjoying this day before the chit hits the fan! It is truly a chamber of commerce day down here, will be in shorts and a tee the rest of the day...

This is for my northern CA friends..
Keep this quiet..... Don't want a mass-rush towards FLA....
Since air conditioning and mosquito control were invented, FLA is a really nice place to live. No state income tax and the booze tax is very reasonable. It's usually hot and humid and there are quite a few toll roads, (just like southerners can't drive in the snow) the snow birds can't drive in the rain here (and most visitors have never experienced the rain during a typical summer t-storm in Florida) and mosquito control isn't 100% effective, but fishing is a year around thing here. It's so nice that a resident here wouldn't dream of going to the beach when the air temps are below 70 degrees...we're spoiled!. Yeah, you have to dodge an occasional hurricane, but it's worth it.

Bob, I was joking earlier but I just checked your weather for tomorrow night! Now I feel bad. Be careful and don't go stickin' yer tongue to any metal flagpoles.

Dan, a couple chilly days, make sure the outside faucets are dripping, we'll be back in the 70s come Thursday. So thanks for the concern, but it's our northern brethren that we're concerned about...

46F and blowing up to 30 and raining uphill.... It was 14 within the last 24 hrs and is supposed to be 10 tonight.
So how do you dress for this?!?
The vice, tablesaw and any other steel object of any mass out in the barn has condensation dripping from it, that is a serious bummer
. Going to be interesting to see how they frost up and freeze by tomorrow.
I was ice bombed on the way home last night when this storm hit, anytime I passed under a tree there was the potential for ice shedding from the branches. Kind of like having some one throw a bag of ice cubes at you when doing 30. Lucky no damage to the hood or windshield. But the good part is the ice is off the trees so the power will stop bumping.
Supposed to be cold on the backside of this so you boys put some wood in the stove and be ready! Stay dry...

I was surveying off of SW 72 St. (Sunset Dr) just east of 117th Ave. Laying out the corners of a townhouse unit for the foundation crew, I thought it was sawdust coming from the roofers on an adjacent building but it was indeed snow.
The next morning, I did a section survey in deep South Dade. The farmers had run their irrigation trucks all night in an attempt to save both crops and the acres of mango trees. It was like a winter wonderland with all the frozen water on the fences, limbs and ground.
It's breezy here and overcast. Cold for a south Fla. boy but not out of the ordinary for Tallahassee. We had flurries last year.
I'm loading up on anti-freeze myself.
Edit: Don't want you Tampa boys to be left out.

CB, we had flurries in Orlando, IIRC, 1989. The rarity of snow down here is that you need moisture for it...and when we get cold enough to snow, it's usually around 20% humidity.
Turning on the spigots tonight, as Hernando county is supposed to have a hard freeze.
And go 'Noles!!!

Well I secured the outside supply lines and the anti-freeze has started. I'm hoping I can make it to the 3rd. quarter with this cold weather.
I don't quite recall being this obnoxious when I went to school but at least I know where all these "brothers" are. I'm imaging several will leave for class from stately Berlin manor tomorrow AM.
Maybe I should root for the Tigers??????
See ya later........
