Leaning post. Here is the build story.

The thing I "should" have done was to built it the same way I did the console with "rivets". A week into the rain and the seams are seperating despite MANY coats of epoxy. I'm going to make another one this winter out of fiberglass.

I looked at you build.  I am a bit confused.  Were you actully using epoxy or 3m 5200?  They are entirely different. Niether will stick to PVC or vinyl.  

Did you tape the seams with epoxy and glass? did you coat it completely with epoxy? did you round over edges to about a 1" radius?

I used an epoxy paint. 5200 and screws for all the corners/joints.

I used contact cement to attach the foam (not foam but I forget the name) to the PVC. Contact cement to attach the neoprene to the foam and pvc (the whole seat is wrapped with neoprene to keep the foam from sogging). Contact cement to attach the vinyl to the neoprene. The seat has held up extremely well.

The seration I speak of is where the corners/joints of the MDF have seperated. Yes, all the edges were rounded over. The mdf itself has not delaminated.

When the weather clears again, I'll take pictures to show what I mean.

Sorry I'm still confused.  You say it is the corners/joint of the MDF, but not the MDF?

I thought in the link you had used MDO.

looks like nice work TG, after looking at the other link looks close to what u are accomplishing, but the value of your own workmanship is priceless. I'm sure you leaned alot if you weren't an expert in fiberglass and fabrication to begin w/. My only concern would be the sharp corners of the rear of the livewell. I see alot of foot traffic near there whether you fish alot, or just go out w/ the family, and a wave or other boat wake turns out to be bigger than u thought. But certainly looks 1st class and beyond my skills.Enjoy!Oh, btw, my other constant complaint about AS's, seal that plumbing to the livewell, and cut access to service it. My original livewell and saltwater pickup has been a constant nightmare
