So the private ferry "Adventure" that runs from Southport to Bald Head Island ran aground yesterday...     14 passengers hurt when it came to a sudden stop.  They make this trip every day about 2-3 hours apart.  I've noticed the ferry "cutting the corner" on the 16 buoy when we are there in October - it goes from 40 feet in the ship's channel to zero pretty quickly there...    

I would guess a certain Captain is probably looking for new work about now...

A short cut that saved a minute or two in associated running time, saved fuel and possibly maintained the schedule all in theory saving the company$$, is going to cost how much now? The underwriters are going to have a stroke when the medical bills start coming in...

The local news last night showed the correct GPS/map track, and the ferry's deviation. He was WAY off course.

Yep, the stuff will be hitting the fan on this one. Those who have attended Octoberfest have been in that channel.
