fishing trip on Sunday
« on: December 09, 2013, 08:20:14 AM »
Took advantage of this incredible weather we've had lately and got out onthe water early sunday, perfect sunrise:

fast moving bait on the flats took a while to catch, made it to the fishing spot and ended the day with 3 keeper trout, a thick red that spit the hook 5ft from the net (damn!)  and this big girl:

LOVE seeing the boat on the water:

Nice snook!!  I bet that was fun on that light rod. Your boat does look really nice.

Been there, done that!!!

Lewis, that's my preferred method of catching snook in the grass.  Penn 712Z spooled with 10 lb. mono, with an 18" 30 lb. leader to protect from the gill plates.  Lotsa fun!!!

Nice Snook, unless your keeping it, and at 20 lb and out of season you weren't, don't hold those big girls up by the jaw, does alot of damage to the fish if not killing her later, it dislocates the jaw and she can't eat, Snook are the worst out of all the fish for this, not trying to be a prick, just trying to inform you, support all the weight like in the first pic always, it's the right thing to do for the fish :salut:
