Lewmar Install questions
«

Since I am doing some upgrades, I think I will also have my Lewmar Pro Fish 1000 installed.
I have no idea where I put the instructions. However, I am sure that Bob is better at this than Lewmar.
I believe there is a post about installing this unit on my Osprey.
I do not remember the gauge wire tot use, something like 4 or 6?
Anyway, I also need the template on maybe not, again, I think there was a install post on these
Thanks as usual for the help.
Bryan

The Profish windlass is a good unitI have the 700 on my 275 explorer. I think the 1000 is much more then you need on your Osprey it draws a lot more power so you need heavier wiring, and needs 9/16" rode and 5/16" chain not good in a limited locker. The 700 has more power then you will need and easier on the batteries. It also uses 1/2" rope and 1/4" chain and if you use 8 plait rope it takes up half the room of 3 strand. Here is a great place to get your rode all made up in any length you need

I carry 300' and 20 feet of chain with room to sparein my locker. Hope this helps.

As DT said, the 700 is enough.

Either way, run 4GA forward. Probably the best way to get there is to snake a cable over to the fuel fill area and pull your cables to there, then snake a cable from the water fill pie aft to the fuel fill pie...that is, if you have a fresh water system...

Yes, I have a fresh water system.
I installed it though, not factory.
There is a loose bow rail mount.
I thought about doing a pie plate to access the mount.
Maybe use that for the access?
