All I have in stock for a newer engine (that I might part with) is a Merc 2003 Bigfoot 25HP 4 stroke long shaft tiller. Rode hard and put up wet, sun baked with barnacle nuggets and no fire. Picked it up for cheap; just sitting on the rack waiting for some TLC and a new life but if you want her... I love this motor, Mercury engineering and marketing said;  "lets see if we can make the heaviest 25 hp ever built". Lets put a 1955 Evinrude Bigtwin to shame and bolt a 25 4 stroke block onto a 50hp midsection and gearcase and weight her in at 175#s! Now go find a market! Just say the word Bob...

Farley, appreciate it, but the little boat will get the proper motor.  60, 70, 75, or 90.  Just have to wait a bit...

Sorry Bryan, selling the little 700.  Just don't have the cash to get the parts she needs.  Oh, it's not like "we" don't have the money...it's just that someone around here decides what it gets spent on...like Vitamix's that never get used...and carpet steam cleaners that never get used...and deep fryers that never get used...and convection ovens that never get used...and a $600 serger that never gets used...and a $1000 sewing machine that never gets used...and probably $7500 in craft supplies that never get used...and a $1400 Imac that just gets used to play solitaire...


But a $200 distributor cap and rotor???  WHAT ARE YOU,  NUCKIN PHUTZ???!!!   It's all I can do to scrounge together some resin and glass, and a few cheap pieces of hardware for the little boat.  So we'll see what I can do over the next few months.  Hope to have the little Sea Sprite in the water this summer.  If it has to be with a little 9.9 tiller, so be it...

Bob, sorry to hear this.  But if its any solace....we've all been there.

With all due respect to our lady members...I keep aside what I like to call a "squirrel fund." This is money known only to me... a little here, a little there. NO bearing on monthly expenses.

A fund for boat use, etc.  It's there and exists. So no need to bring up boat needs and start that discussion...we'll lose every time. Get what you need with the squirrel fund and avoid the trauma.

And trust me, it's reciprocal. My customers (80% female) confide to me they have similar funding. Mostly clothes, but tied for second are jewelry and shoes.

Unless a husband counts shoes....he's none the wiser
