What motors did you end up going with?
If brand new you will have to have the dealer to check it out after you rig them to ok it for warranty

Pickle her well before you put her to bed, put some Bounce or other rodent repellent under the hood to the rodents out of the air box  and she will be ready to go when you find an 18' Donzi to put her on..

You'll only need to get a big ol tooth brush to get the bugs outta your teeth

Too funny Dave.
My friend has an old Boston Whaler.
It is 18 or 20 ft.
We are always joking about putting a 250 on her and setting a speed record.
I already bought some fogging oil for her.

Good stuff Aaron! Tried to blow it up, but here's a start.

If you could load the Photobucket images to your gallery here if you get a chance, would be great for the thread :thumright:
Keep overloading image dimension on a direct upload/post.

Thanks!

Here are some more pics of the packing process.

Scored some metal Suzuki crates from a boat dealer at Lake Lanier. Thank you so much Grass Shack!

Was able to adapt the styrofoam pieces so they support the motor against the sides of the crate. Of course dumbazz me forgot to shrink wrap it first! No big deal, just 6 bolts to take the top off again. The owner of the motors and I had to think about how to attach the motors to the crate bases down onto the ground, but after thinking it through, because all we had was a engine hoist we attached the base to the motor bracket while it was hanging from the hoist. I then balanced each motor and base on the end of the base then unhooked it from the hoist and lowered them onto a tire on the ground. This way if it slipped away from us the tire would cushion the drop. This worked really, really well!  Using the base as a lever lowered the weight to the point 2 of us had no issues. I estimate each crate with the motor at around 500 lbs.

I am posting this pic again for Bryan so he can see how we suspended the motor. One strap left to right and another front to back so it made a cradle.

You can see how the styrofoam piece fits up against the frame of the crate.

If you look close you can see the brackets we attached to the steering arm. One on each side, This made it extremely solid and I feel there will be no issues when they get across the country.

2 or 3 days, after they leave.
I spoke to Bill the actual shipper, he is on it and should be an easy trip out.

OK, they have left the gate.
The outboards were picked up this morning from Barry's home.
They are on the road and heading this way.
Bill, the shipper said a couple of days?
Sounds like a lot of mile in a couple of days, yeah?
He said delivery on Tuesday late afternoon.
