Changed out the wheel bearings on the trailer today  :cry:
Damn I hate grease...chit ends up on everything..and I mean everything.
I went through a whole box of rubber gloves and a box of paper shop towels
I swear it takes a guy longer to cleanup the mess on your tools after you are done then it takes to change out the bearings.
Hadn't changed out the bearings on this trailer since 2010, I bought this trailer new in 2009, my old trailer I changed them out every year and they always showed signs of rust when I replaced them.
This time I figured I had pushed the envelope by going 3 years without replacing them.....
The old bearings looked like new upon inspection  :shock:  :shock:
This trailer has the EZ-Lube spindles on Dexter axles...as far as I am concerned they be the best thing since sliced bread.
About 3 times a year I take the grease gun to them to force out the old grease with new.

If  I live long enough next time I will wait 4 years before I replace the bearings   :pirat:

Bill, grease is magnetic...you walk by it, and the natural magnetic field of the human body will attract it, cause it to jump on you...

Neversieze has the same properties, along with 5200...

Another thing that drives me nuts.....no matter how many times I have reloaded my grease gun,
I always remove the wrong end first  :scratch:

Ha ha ha I thought I was the only one that did that. Even better is when the grease gun looses its prime and I take of the wrong end....  then the dang spring starts pushing out grease everywhere!

If my life depended on me loading a grease gun correctly the first time, I would be in big trouble :oops:   Even then, seems like the darn thing doesn't work like it should half the time :evil:

Yes grease is messy. 5200 is bad also. My vote goes for anti-seize (the aluminum kind). Personally, it has the properties of both regular grease and 5200.

Gotta agree with ya there Lewis.  Anti/Never seize is absolutely, 100% attracted to the human body, whether it be by magnetism, osmosis, whatever.  Regardless of the care you take, that chit gets on EVERYTHING!!! :x

Got 2 more to add - Great Stuff (the foam sealant that stains and won't come off) and 2 cycle oil that always wants to get on your clothes - especially if they are white...   :twisted:
