livewell hatch for 170
« on: June 23, 2006, 11:52:07 AM »
My hatch on my live well has become weak and is flexing from age and people standing on it.  As you well know this hatch is actually too thin for the amount of area it has to cover.  Just wanted to know if anyone out there knows a good way to re-inforce the back to stregthen it up.  It is a little warped from years of standing on it.  Just let me know what you come up with.

Maybe build a fixture to straighten it and hold the warp out then glass stiffeners to the underside.

Same on my 22-2.  I cut a piece of 3/4 plywood, put a bevel on the edges, then glassed it to the underside of the hatch.  It doesn't give now.
