tires for osprey 200

Need new tires for my 93 osprey cc. The trailer is a single axle aluminium one with 175/80-13 tires. Seems like a lot of weight for that tire. Any idea on the proper tire for this boat? What do you use?

Do you have room to step up to a 14" tire and wheel?  You should be running say a 205/70-14.

Good idea. Only 1.3" larger dia. , or .65" between tire top and fender. I'll check, and raise fender if I need to.

I'm running 14 inch Kenda/Loadstar bias radials under my '99 200 Osprey but uneven tire wear (see my "Time for a New Axle? post) has at least one member recommending radials -- and another suggesting that I might need a tandem trailer. All great info that you might want to reference...

2 weeks ago put 205's on it. I will watch for abnormal wear.

Adapt-

As Daniel mentioned, I personally do not think bias ply tires are a great option for heavily loaded single axle trailers (i.e those with heavy 18-20-ish foot boats).  They generally work fine on smaller trailers or for tandems that can spread the load across multiple wheels, but when supporting a heavy load tend to deform a bit during turns and often develop cupping wear on the outside corners.  Are the 205's you bought radials or bias?
