Hi!
« on: October 10, 2013, 10:39:38 AM »
Hi folks!  I'm a new boat owner and new to the forum.  I'm in NJ.  I've just picked up an Aquasport that doesn't seem to be common.  The model number on near the dashboard is:

188 O/B FF

The serial number on the transom is:

ASPS1022M80J81MDI

There is a model sticker on the outside of the boat that says:

188 SR

I've been reading through the forums here and it seems like this indicates that it's some kind of mix between a Family Fisher ( the 188 O/B FF)
and  a Sport Rider (the 188 SR) but it also looks identical to an Xcape.  It looks identical to the bowrider on that link.

Any ideas?  I'll post a couple of pics when i figure them out.

This cost me next to nothing and there seems to be no rot at all under the deck.  Transom is solid too.  My winter project!

It really is a beautiful boat.  I'm looking forward to a lot of years enjoying it.

Pmoat,
You do not have the Xcape model but rather the 188.

Xcape hull

I need to do a little search on what limited info we have on this model. If I remember correctly, the FF has a cuddy and the sport is a bow rider.

More to follow.

Read the entire thread (not very long).

This is your model with a center console rather than a dual.

Still Aqua was noted for "creating" different models with such changes as were/are many boat builders.

OK, just a little more info.

Go to Marti's Photo Bucket link. You'll see your hull there.
This thread contains a few broken links but you get the idea.

Then follow my last link (it has some info and is the same red hull I linked earlier)

You are correct in that we do not see this model hull very often.

Good luck.

Thanks Capt Bob!

I'm going to get it detailed, fix a throttle cable, and it should really be ready to float at that point.

I'm looking to get covers for it along with a bimini top eventually.  Is there anyone you'd recommend?

P,
I'm clueless on the recommendations but we have a large number of active members in the northeast so hopefully they'll chime in.

Good luck and please post more pics. I realize the Gallery is acting up and is frustrating at its very best but keep trying. :thumleft:

This is a model that we can use some detailed documentation on and you own it.

Thanks.
