Yes it has! I have been here since 1994. Before that I lived in Winter Garden for a couple years. Originally landed in the Orlando area back in 1989, for college at UCF.

May have missed this but what is the plan for lighting?

I haven't really addressed lighting in full detail yet but I want to do it right without blowing the bank. I hate poorly lit rooms, especially work areas.
I am all ears if you have any suggestions.

I haven't really addressed lighting in full detail yet but I want to do it right without blowing the bank. I hate poorly lit rooms, especially work areas.
I am all ears if you have any suggestions.  

I have become a fan of LED light strips.. I have used both the waterproof (IP65) and non waterproof 3528 LED strips that have 120 LED per meter.  They run at 12 volts and make great, inexpensive light strips.  If you are handy with a soldering iron you can make any length you want.  I mount the strips on aluminum flat bar to help dissipate the little heat they generate.  The beauty is that instead on paying $120 at Home Depot for a four foot light fixture you can make one for $20 with a power supply with stuff you get off eBay.. Or do what a bubby is doing and just wire it to a dedicated 12VDC circuit..

To many options really, but LEDs have gone to the top of my list, especially when it is easy to custom do what you want and they are way cheaper on eBay then locally. Just plan on about 2weeks for them to arrive from China..

I used a light density program on the computer, chose a desired minimum that would suffice as a tanning booth and let it spit out placement of 8' t5 HO fluorescents.  I used the double/tandem 4' version (four 4' lamps per fixture).  Ended up with 3 rows of lights and I forget the spacing they were on, but I broke it into 2 separately switched zones.  Turned out just like I wanted except...

I forgot:  I have 3 10'x10' garage doors across the front of my garage and a 12'x10' door on the back.  When you roll them all up on a hot summer night to work on something...you've blocked 400+sf of ceiling, which is where the lights are all mounted.  Shadows galore in the areas under the doors.  Not sure the best way around that issue, but it is certainly something I will think about on my next garage build. I've even considered screwing a few fixtures to the panels of the doors themselves with enough slack on a cord that I can roll it up and down, and when its up it will be a "ceiling" fixture and when it's down it will be a "wall" fixture.

No bulbs to burn out on LED, but I built my garage in 2010, have used it extensively, and haven't changed the first bulb.  In fact, I bought the bulk pack of 4' lamps, used it to lamp the fixtures when I installed them and it's still sitting downstairs with like 9 bulbs left in it because that's what was leftover after the install.  Ballasts are all still kicking, too.  I purchased the lights at a commercial electrical supply house and don't remember what I paid, but they came at the end of the build, and I know money was running out, so I can't imagine much.  I know I did pay a little more for a fixture with high quality ballasts and haven't regretted it.  Lights come on without delay, hot, cold, wet out, etc.
