Start with this post and go down (but for the full Monty read the entire thread).

JD's post is from his older 200CCP (don't be confused by his sig at the bottom). Wing's is an EX but it is the same hull as yours and both his and GF's are your hull with bigger Mercs on the transom. Seems your HP is a little low for that hull but it is what it is.

Good luck.

4 cylinder or 6 cylinder 115? Big difference on how you prop them.

My 200XF started out with a 125 Force on the back of it.  I think I had a 15" pitch prop on that thing.  I had to really run that thing hard to get that boat going with that Force.  But I doubt that thing was putting 100 HP to the prop.  Also that boat was HEAVY.  I think she had some wet foam in the stringers.   Your 200CCP is the same hull but with a different cap that probably weighs quite a bit less than the 200XF.

Fitz has a good point on the number of cylinders.  The six cylinder wold have MUCH more torque.

Bruce, believe it or not the 4 cylinder 115 from '89-'05 made alot more bottom end torque than its earlier 6 cylinder brother. The I4 was 113 cu in and the I6 was 99 cu in. Peak power was @4750-5250 for the 4 and @5700-6000 for the 6. So believe it or not the I4 will actually turn a higher pitch than the I6 which is why I asked the question.

ive made progress today! it started to die at about 10 mph so i choked for a second and it
took off with power and kept the power. i can over rev my 115 hp merc with the 11 pitch so
im putting the 17 back on and going back to the harbor. i will let you know what happens.
