I tend to agree but if this is the case, the propeller should be having ventilation problems and losing bite. Is it? I would temporarily hook up a water pressure guage and verify the suspicion.

From what I’m told, once over 4500 rpm’s the over heat alarm goes off. Having not rode on the boat, I don’t know if the prop is slipping or not. I’m going to see if she will take me for a ride on it, to see. A water pressure gage would be worth her having put on. She would then know if the water flow is being reduced. Also a temp gage wouldn't hurt either.  But you all are right it may be just walk away time. I really don’t know her that well. I was doing a friend a favor by looking at it and trying to help. But a loss cause is a loss cause.
