Aquasport 270 xf
« on: July 07, 2013, 05:31:49 PM »
So tuesday I am heading to go look at a 270 xf, she is an 86 or 87.  Anyone have any advice on what problems to look for on aquasports of this size and year?  any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance. :sunny:

Here's a link to a link to get you started.

Yes the link is for the 290 model but some things are similar. They're not as popular as say a 170 but we have several members who own or have owned these "Big" Aquas. Search the net and you will come home with multiple opinions ranging from "poorly built/fuel hogs" to superb pocket yachts.

You're looking at a 26 or 27 year old hull but I don't recall reading posts on this Forum concerning hull integrity. Mostly stateroom cosmetics/plumbing/engine/drive/prop/fuel tank/steering questions. Hopefully one of our members will speak up before Tuesday.

Good luck.

ok.. so didtn buy the boat.... guy wanted too much money for what it is and wanted to lie about the motors after the mech told us they had 2500 hrs on them.... guy said they were good for years to go... sry but 2500 hrs on a motor is time for rebuild.... but they did start....  lots of cracks on deck but nothing some fiberglass couldnt fix..... 10k for a boat that needs 10 to 15k of work without a trailer is not worth it to me... not whne I have seen them sell with trailer in great shape for 10k.....  So now Im looking at a 84 270xf... anyone know if the deadrise is the same on the 270's at 20 degrees..... this one is priced right if its still solid... been on blocks for over 2 years.... gonna need a total rebuild... and yes I will post pics all the way through ;)

I have an 84 270xf with twin 225 yama outboards. I know right much about the 270 and 290s. Yes 84 to 90 had same dead rise. If you have more questions let me know.

I have a question for you on a weird looking thru hull in front of the starboard side motor, looks like is the overboard discharge. Is that a plain valve or is something more to it?
