2003 osprey 175 passing wires....
« on: June 19, 2013, 10:01:37 AM »
Ok - so it looks like im getting my new to me 2003 175 osprey in a couple of weeks...im going to have to pass my transducer wire from the console to the stern and by looking at pictures of the boat i don't see how im going to do it?!  on my 1979 170 i had the removable floor panel that went from under the console straight to the stern and was super easy to pass wires...it also gave me access to go to the bow by going into the gunnels. Another question is about the fuel tank. my 79 had the lid visible on the floor but all i see on the 03 is a pie plate between the seat and console? anything anyone can tell me about this boat would be greatly appreciated - as well as seeing some pics of their rigs / console set ups would be interesting too. Thanks!

There should be a rigging tube going aft. Just follow where the motor controls and such go. As for the fuel tank access they did away with the coffin cover. So if you have to replace the tank you have to cut the floor along some molded in lines.

There is no rigging tube on mine, it's just goes in the space between deck and stringers adjacent to the fuel tank box.  The easiest way would be to pull one wire all the way through (from old transducer?) with a sturdy string attached to the old wire, then you can pull the wire back through.  Maybe use some heavy mono fishing line.
