E Mail..."Costumer from Singapore"
« on: June 13, 2013, 11:41:40 AM »
Hello,

I'm costumer from Singapore country and I like to make a business
with you. I get looking interest for some your product. So, maybe you
could help me to find and supply the best. I hope you accepted this
request and will back to confirm me about product detail. But before I
place my order to purchase I would ask you regarding the product.

1. Do have International Business and ship to Southeast
Asia/Singapore country?
2. Do you accept and take direct debit payment by credit card
(Visa/Mastercard) without using Paypal or Merchant Account?
3. Could you dispatch the packages by Federal Express, DHL, or UPS
Express method?

Please answer and confirm back about my question. Awaiting for
your comment to above answers and proposals, hope we've be able to deal
with your company in near future as well. And i hope you can be
responsible
Thank you.

Best Regards.

Jennifer Chang

Several years ago I engaged in dialog with someone claiming to want to do business with my from Nigeria.  As a note, I have been in the information security business professionally for over 17 years.

It was a fairly interesting email conversation.  At one point I asked him to prove who he was before I continued.  He asked how he was supposed to do that, and I said I wanted a picture of him and his family.  He sent me a scanned image out of some catalog, looked like a clothing ad.

Then there was about 4 emails generated back and forth about how lovely his family was.  Finally, following a lead from the Blue Brothers, I asked him if he would sell me his wife and daughter if we made a deal.  He said yes, but only if I made the deal by 5pm today.

The point of all this I really have to wonder how gullible people are to fall for this ridiculous stuff.  But then again, there are some pretty desperate people in this world.

I like the "I'll mail you a cashier's check plus $X00.00 and you mail me back the difference"  emails.

When i first moved to Tampa, while looking for a house, I went by 2 addresses that were supposed to be "ready to move into" according to the ad,,, drove by to see both houses were owned and lived in by the owners.

Um, Scott, it was due to the admins of this forum that the spammer got on in the first place.  A simple program like http://www.stopforumspam.com/search.php  lets an admin check the authenticity before allowing membership.  As an admin on the Proline owners site, I've approved one application in the last 3 weeks...but have rejected probably 100...

Many thanks to Scott D for the heads up on that site... :thumleft:  :thumleft:

What the PL site does is show me the intended user name, their email address, and their IP address.  98.5% are no-brainers from the get go.  Just checked, have 11 new members awaiting approval...11?  On a Thursday?  On a Proline site?

10 are definitely BS, but one has a "possibly good" screen name...duramaxxed.  Maybe he's a Chevy guy.  Has a gmail address, better than a hotmail address, or even a private server.  We'll see, the usual giveaway is the IP address, as most spammers don't set up a proxy server, takes too much time to reconfigure their network connections...

Duramaxxed passed, so he's in.  No hits on user name, IP, or email.  Doesn't mean won't see spam tomorrow, but I doubt it...

Well I guess I will come out of lurking mode for this one, In Ricks defense some of these guys are good, getting better every day, all it takes is being in a hurry once or just going by the name and one can get through, has happened to me, but now I have the advantage of extra anti spam software that Rick doesn't have on this site so it's alot easier for me, 99% of the guys you won't activate Bob, I never even see those guys, they don't get that far but I still check everything on top of that.

And Bob I have another spam site for you to use, I'll give it to you later, back to lurk mode.

Guys, thanks :salut:

One of the reasons I was trying to buy this site was to upgrade for the benefit of our membership.

We all became friends right here...and I'm glad we're friends. That's how we started...friendship. So cancel lurk mode

Great input.  Gives the owner a plan, if he's so inclined. Let's hang together on this like a hair on a biscuit

Thanks :salut:

If Tom is still the owner, well, once again, ain't holdin' my breath...

And I would assume he wants a handsome piece of change for his creation...

You and I and Scott have been great friends for a long time, we still are, and I value our friendship.

Your work is top drawer, and I love Miss D even more every time she cranks up.

Tom has not returned my calls. I was asked to take this to PM, and I have...but so everyone knows, no returned calls, after three messages left.

Value? To me it has no monetary value. The value to me personally is membership interaction based upon mutual interest. Comaraderie, new friendships, and assistance, pretty much in that order.   I'm willing to pay something for that. But crazy money? No sir.

BTW skinny man   ....Tebow is a Pat

You're  gonna run the NFL pool again this year right? :bounce:
