1999 Yamaha 200 OX66
« on: March 27, 2013, 08:46:34 AM »
This could be a great deal for someone looking for a 200hp.  No reserve and low hours.  This is the same motor I have.  I am guessing that it will go for a minimum of 4k.  That would be a great deal on this engine.  These are great motors :thumright:

Thats a nice looking motor.  Personally I'd be a tad shy buying a motor from an unknown out of state source without seeing it in person.  He might get lucky and some idiots will bid it out of sight!

I think we all would look at it first, but reputation alone should bring this engine a nice high bid.

I tell you what, that is about the CLEANEST powerhead I've ever seen on a used motor!  I seriously doubt anyone would go to all that trouble on a motor with issues.  No offense Bruce, but I'm with JD on this one...

I wasn't referring to that particular engine but just buying any engine or anything else on fleabay is a risk....  even as clean as that one is who knows what could be hiding inside of it.  Just look what happened with Miss Marco!

There is a pair of complete 175 Johnsons on THT, 02's I believe.
I think that was the bombardier ones, good I think.
Maybe good for my ride?

Those twins look real nice! Carb rebuild is real easy on them. Spark tester would tell you about the condition of the stators and power packs.

Since I have a new transom and no more waterline scuppers, I should pick this up and have twin 200's   :thumleft:

This motor is in Virginia.  It will be a deal if it goes less than 4k, but I think it will go higher than that.

Yes Bryan, they are BRP motors.  BRP cleaned up the whole OMC fiasco (mainly in regards to Fichts) by, I'd say, mid '00...

175s would be perfect for your Osprey.  50 HP over the rated max, give you some nice added punch out of the hole and a real nice high 30s cruise.  If you guys remember the 23 Cape Horn I did, she was running 200 HPDIs...

They are on THT in LA.
Sorry my bad, in AL.
Asking is 5500 OBO.
Complete, any members there??
I would be very interested in them, just dont know if I want to send 5500 to a stranger with only seeing photos.
Too bad not closer to you
I would send my boat down, have you do the rigging and such

Maybe take a look on THT and let me know your opinion, I think they are solid motors?

Awesome, thanks. I sent you a PM.
I opened a thread Possible motors for my Osprey.
I have stepped on this thread way too much. My bad!

Wow Eufaula AL!  Haven't heard that one in a while... some time ago a buddy of mine said "hey lets take two planes up to Eufala for a trip"...  I was like WTF is Eufaula and whats there?  Why not? so we flew on up there...  after a fuel stop on the way (my Cessna was modified with a big motor so she had short legs) we finally landed on an almost abandoned airstrip.. I forget what time of year it was but it was off season so there was NOTHING to do.  so we went to some big place and ate...  then flew back!  I had to stop in Cross City FL for fuel... at night...  half the runway lights were out...  the FBO was closed so I go to the bar... yes bar on that airport looking for fuel...  I find some lady and she says oh yeah here's the key to the pump.. pump it yourself!...  man I remember it was freezing cold and pumping Av gas out of a 2" hose on top of a wobbly ladder was interesting.  I toss the lady in the bar some $$$ and I fly the rest of teh way home...  all so I can say i have been to Eufaula AL! OK now you can switch tracks back to the original thread!
