« on: May 23, 2006, 11:42:58 PM »
This is what I worked on this winter in NE in reverse orderer, reinforced and rebuilt transom, painted hull and transom, repowered with 1983 115 Merc straight Six.  Boat is in water an running nicely.  Send your comments  and suggestions, this was my first project.  Used West Systems for FB glass work and interlux paint system.

Congrats on the completed projects!  The pictures tell the story...  Especially like the telephoto picture of her on her mooring.  Very, very nice.  Hull looks good all white rather than with the two-tone white/gray.

Thanks Jim and Rick.  It was an easier project than I thought.  The tarp creation was 1" PVC, gallon water jugs, and bungee cord, I may revise it a little for next winter.  The tarp gave me many more days to work here in New England.

Very Nice Job. I live on the North Shore as well and have an '87 Osprey 17'. Unfortunately, I'm missing the windsheild. Where did you get your replacement?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,
I actually measured around the console and picked up 1/4" polycarbonate to fit from a glass shop in Brighton, about $40.  The guys said it wouldn't break.  Its actually rough looking bc I didnt take the time to bend it with a heat gun.  I just bolted it in the old holes, starting in the center and working around.  You can get a look at it from the Kernwood bridge or email me directly.

Hey Jim, thanks for the reply.

There's a site UPD plastics that makes repalcements for Aquasport. But it says '87 Striper, is that different than Osprey? I'm trying to go for the true "old school" look.

You're boat looks great by the way.

Paul

Dusky, I hadn't noticed that custom pump setup on the transom.  Hows that work?  Any pix of the finished setup?

That unit is about 10 years old, called a Seaflo, has a standard rule attached to it and some sort of one way pickup valve, couldn't find them for another boat about 5 years ago, so I built one out of 3/4" PVC.  The seaflow and the pvc units work great, the final setup pics are in progress, unfortunately I've had trouble finding bait to keep alive...
