Scott's steering issue...
« on: March 05, 2013, 10:36:37 PM »
Picked up Scott's HC5345 cylinder today, went on the starboard motor without a hitch...but the old tie bar wouldn't work due to the interferance with the cylinder as it pivots up when going hardover.

Scotty, rather than the HO6001 at just shy of $400, I think I've solved the problem.  Teleflex's HO5038A extension plate kit...http://greatlakesskipper.com/product/20 ... r-kit.html

$90 is a whole lot better than $400!!  Whatcha think?  And we use the tie bar you already have...

You said not to order it...and man I'm glad we didn't :thumright:

Excellent job in using what we have...great sourcing solution

That tie bar I brought down looks like crap. Shoulda sent it to the machine shop to be prettied up prior to delivery.  My bad.

Some elbow grease is all the tie bar needs.

Just a couple pics, not much today.  Got the kill switches in today, so did the ign switch bezels and them...

Have to get a couple washers (cylinder was missing them) before I snug things up...

Probably breaking some rules here, but I'll get over it...
