Bruce no need to measure stuff up, many thanks for the offer!!!

I was at the boat yesterday and measured everything in sight and was able to get enough info off the Windline site to make up a drawing and get numbers. Still no info from Windline, but it has only been about 4 days.

The DLB-9 would be the cats pajamas if the transom angle was 12 instead of 25 degrees. I got enough  1/8 stainless from a local shop to make what I am looking for.  So far I'm into this project for $15 and a little time..

OK I went to check on the boat to see how the cover was doing after all the wind we ad the other day.  I was gonna go measure the ladder when I realized the ladder is at home in my garage!  Let me know if you need any more help.

Glad I am not the only one to have spells like that!

This is the SECOND night in a row that I left the soldering iron and Fluke at the house instead of bringing it to work.. :cyclops:     So much for staying awake projects

Kinda like leaving the boat keys at home...

Saw a first the other day.  Was on the Glacier Bay, popped off the fuel fill access pie to feel around in there for clearence to run speaker wires.  Peeking out from behind the fill hose was the familiar red coiled cord of a kill switch lanyard.  Say to self...WTF!?  Investigate, and the PO had a spare set of keys ty-wrapped to the fill hose...

Never seen that before...

I carry a spare set of keys to the boat in my truck just for that reason.  Amazingly I found out the 245 and the 170 have the same number OMC ignition key!  So one spare covers both boats....  So I thought anyways...  I went to the storage lot sometime ago to get the 245...  I back up get ready to hook up...  when I realize I didn't have the keys with me...  Oh I have a spare boat key!    but not a spare tongue lock key!  DANG IT!   That's a great idea on the hidden spare key and lanyard.

In the past I have been caught too many times too, so now I have two magnetic boxes hid on my tow truck. One contains keys for the House, Yard Gate and storage unit, the other has all my vehicle, boat and trailer keys. Plus I carry 2 plastic flat keys for my car and truck in my wallet. The bad thing is.....I am wearing out the magnetic boxes from opening and closing them all the time

I installed a Windline ladder on the swim platform of our 175 last Summer. This is a two step model (TD-2).
I had to do a little figuring and redrill the enclosed brackets.
The ladder works well and since we do not move as well as we used to the second step is fine for getting on the boat.
I will send a photo if anyone is interested.

After making 4 calls and 3 emails to the manufacturer, I have had no response, not the end of the world, just a tad inconvenient.  So it is time to charge, all ahead full!

I took all the measurements of my existing mount that seemed important and made a small table of offsets.

I lofted offsets full size on the only piece of paper I had laying around that was big enough.. Thankyou Amazon! :D   It is hard to see in the picture, but there are 3 sets of lines, what I have with the existing mount, what the DLB-9 from Windline would look like and what is plainly visible is what I want to have. This setup will provide at least 11 1/2 inches of clearance for the DXL-4 that I have

From the drawing I pulled the shape of the mount that I need and made up with this template out of a dead cereal box and then transferred the shape to a piece of 1/8 inch stainless.  I intend to bend it to shape and added the thickness of the plate to the bend dimensions so if all goes well things will line up.

After a session with a plasma cutter this is where we are. The setup to about twice as long as the cutting.  Plasma RULES!! :thumright:  :thumleft:   The project is on hold until I can think up a good homemade break.  Something has gone wrong with the ratio of the picture, the blank does not look that squashed, but the picture gives you the idea..
