I'm pretty sure you can expect HP/10 = WOT fuel burn.  Doesn't seem to matter 2 or 4 Stroke unless the hull is really special, which the Explorers are not.

I would be curious in these #'s also but full throttle all these motors are the the same, it's low and mid rpm range were the 4's shine.

At cruise for me, 200hp 2 stroke, 4000 rpm 30 mph I burn 13 gph and they say the 4's are up to 40% better on gas so that makes for a big difference.

Correct but the hull has nothing to do with it.  It's physics that say it's approximately 1 GPH per 10 HP at WOT on a combustion engine.    The hull, wind resistance, sea conditions, etc. will determine top speed.

Yep.  Your operating habits will determine fuel burn above idle and below WOT.  There really isn't that much difference in motors with the latest technology whether two or four stroke.  From what I hear, all of them have trouble beating out a Merc Optimax.  It's a small percentage difference but it's there.  Changing from an old carbed motor to any of the new motors will save you 40% on fuel burn if you drive it with common sense.  Drive it like you stole it and we are back to the 1 gph per 10 HP.

my 225 Explorer with 200 2 stroke yammie cruises at 26 mph at 4100 rpm burning 10.3 GPH ,
 WOT 5500 rpm @ 38 mph burning 21.0 GPH
