Hello all. I just bought myself a 1981 Osprey 170 in great condition.....but with a ragged out trailer...for $1,900.
So far I love it. It has a Johnson Javelin 100hp which doesn't like to start when cold but once she's going the boat goes like a scalded ape! On my first cruise I did 17 miles with throttle varying from idle to WOT probably about 10 of the 17 miles were at 60% throttle. I used 6.3 gallons of gas, meaning I averaged 2.7 mpg. Does that seem right?
Also I plan to turn the storage under the seat in front of the console into a livewell. Planning to pull water in from a hole through the transom using something like this..

I'm just wondering where to dump the overflow water from so that the sound of water trickling out of the boat all day doesn't get annoying. Or do I just have to live with it?
