Do any of you guys ever go to the Billy Bowlegs Festival in Ft Walton Beach/Destin area in Florida?  Ive been going for years and it often is the boating highlight of the year for us.

We plan on making the trip this year from Pascagoula Ms to there by boat, we're figuring 130 miles one way, approx. a 5 hour ride factoring in the no wake zones.
Haters gonna hate !

I live on Destin Harbor and stay off the water every year during Bowlegs Weekend.  Although it is supported locally by the FWB crowd, law enforcement has a harder and harder time keeping the drunks under control.  It has become a discouraging trend for people that want to enjoy the coastal environment without the significant safety concerns this "event" encourages.

All very similar to our "White Trash Bash" in Franklin County and the Columbus Day Regatta in Biscayne Bay.

A really good time gone bad but hey......

Everybody wants in on a good thing. :drunken:
