So anyway, my new dream fish is Mahi Mahi and I'm told I can catch them in NJ waters. Can't wait. C ya

How far out is the Gulf Stream up there, that would be where you would have to go for Mahi, they like warm water.

And weed lines.  And James?  Not to dis on ya, but here on the east coast we call them dolphin.  It's the Cali and Hawaii guys that call them Mahi...

They also call tuna "Ahi".  Here's my buddy Corey out in Oahu (3000' deep 10 minutes from his slip) with a nice Ahi...

Hey everybody,

It's been a while but I wanted to let everybody know that I took my 225 out twice and she runs great.  She's a lot more boat that my 200 Osprey and much more powerful--just trying to get used to it.  I thought I was having trouble getting her on plane but I just needed to give her more power.  And I'm learning to use the trim tabs and the windlass.

One thing that's nice is that everything works on this boat.  Absolutely everything.  Every light, every bilge pump, every systems, everything!  However, she really needs to be polished and waxed.  Gonna start that tomorrow right after we get back from our first fishing trip of the year.  C you guys later

Mahi is by far my favorite off-shore fish.. and definitely a great fish to eat! Good luck on the next fishing trip!

First of all, here in "Cali" we call it California. Second, we call the fish Durado. Well I guess some people call it Mahi.

Nice Ahi too. Any smaller and it would be a Shibi!!!

Heeeeyyyyeeee.....   Doesn't it look like I wrote that last post

Anyway, my family and I went out but no striped bass (I wasn't really expecting any).  However, I might have been a little premature when I said everything works.  First thing, after we got on the water, I attempted to fill the live well.  Water started to fill but only in squirts.  The water that was squirting in was still pink from winterization but it would have taken the livewell a very long time to fill at the rate it was going--but I guess it was working.  I was a little more concerned with the transom shower.  Before going out, I used my garden hose and put fresh water in the tank.  After we were on the water, I activated the switch and waited for water to come out of the hose fitting.  However, water squirted out once, then sputtered a little but it never really worked.  I was wondering if it needed to primed but if so, how?  And lastly, I played with the windlass and the anchor deployed and retrieved smoothly.  But after the rode was out approximately 50ft (kinda hard to guess-ti-mate) the windlass stopped.  I looked inside and saw what appeared to be a large tangle or knot in the rope that prevented further deployment.  I think I can work that out on dry land.

Well other than those minor issues, the boat and engine ran smoothly.  She is definitely more powerful that my Osprey.  Funny thing though, I never knew how much fun it would be to sit on the bow seat and fish.  My kids loved it and I liked it too    It looks like I have a couple more kinks to work out and then it's saltwater time--C y'all

Not sure of your baitwell setup but on my 215 you can turn the water inlet inside the baitwell to shut the water off. Yours might be almost closed and just letting the water squirt in. Also check your valve if your baitwell pump is also a washdown pump to make sure it is turned to baitwell.

One other thing is check the intake water screen to the pump and see if it's clogged up

Trying to get out again on Thursday and I check those things you wrote on but I'll let you know. Thanks.

I checked and the valve was half closed.  Once I opened the valve, the water didn't gush in like I was expected but it began filling a hell of a lot faster than it had been.  For a faster result, I still might continue to use my half of Tide bottle to fill it.  Funny story: Last Friday, my family and I were cleaning the boat.  While this was going on, I started, once again, looking for the transom shower.  I called Seabob and he patiently guided me to it.  I think I actually squealed, I was so happy.  That's one of the few things on my boat that I can't live without--Thanks Seabob!
