MY NEW BOAT!!!
« on: February 08, 2013, 12:06:08 AM »
What's up everybody?  Well I finally bought her - a 2001 Aquasport 225 Explorer with the 225hp Yamaha.  We did the survey and seatrial today and she can flat out fly!  Have a few minor things to attend to; including, getting a prop with the right pitch (Bob told me to ask Scott about that) and chaging the fuel filter and the water pump.  Unfortunately, I have been having big time trouble posting pictures lately.  I've done it before so... Oh well, this is the one.  http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2001/Aq ... ted-States  I'll post the few pictures I have as soon as I figure out what I'm doing wrong.  C ya

James

PS. Now I need a trailer and some insurance

Lol. Thanks everybody.  Y'all didn't think I'd ever do it huh?  Anyway, I want to ask you guys something kinda just for fun and also for info.  Everybody knows that I need a trailer but which is better, bunk or roller and torsion axle or leaf springs? And what about aluminum vs galvanized?

Ive found a place near where the boat is located that would sell me a brand new, 2013 Sea Lion bunk trailer with leaf spring suspension for right around $3K.  They also have a roller trailer with torsion axles for and $3.6. Thats why I've been looking for a good used one.  Price, especially at this point, is extremely important and will have the greatest influence on my decision. And used trailers make some of the unaffordable trailers affordable.

So what's your preference?

James
