Bob's got a valid question - all models and years vary.

Do you know the year? Did you look in the photo gallery (on teal bar up top above the forums)? On the first page you find the size, model (Osprey is correct) and the year and and you'll find a lot of info.
A good way to spend some research time while you're waiting to hear from a 222 Osprey owner.

Mr. Pecan,
First, welcome to the site.  You'll not find a better owners site, nor a better group of guys on the entire internet.  That being said, an introduction, perhaps a "hello" would be much appreciated, as we are not THT, we are not iboats, we DO appreciate someone who comes on here, has a good idea about Aquasports in general and perhaps has done a little reading here, maybe a little poking around to see what the site has to offer, maybe even someone who has done a little homework here and there...

So perhaps you might want to tell us a little background as to why you want to know the cockpit depth at the stern quarter of a 222...Osprey?  CCP?  Might even phrase your question THIS way..."Hey Guys!  Could any 222 (Osprey/CCP) owners please tell me the cockpit depth at the stern quarter?  Thanks a bunch!"

Sound good? :thumright:

I thought this was to "go to" place for Aquasport info?

Of the four photos you displayed, 2 of the hulls are mid 70's and two are 80's Osprey models that had different cockpit depths. So until you are able to give someone here a model year, you will continue to be disappointed by our lack of knowledge and follow up.

It may well be that due to your demanding verbiage no one chooses to assist you.

As stated, this is not THT. The members here don't cotton to demands, don't owe the public a thing. This is a private club, a group of friends.

Nevertheless...

The boat that you inquire about is a 222 Osprey. The deck caps(gunnel caps) of the Ospreys are higher than their 22-2 predecessors.

We need to ask an Osprey owner. However, if you grasp the concept, the freeboard measurement of any original 22' 2" twelve degree Aquasport at the stern corner to the BOTTOM of the cap will give you the dimensions you seek.

Send Slvring a PM, he may measure his boat for you.

Regarding posting manners on this site, review the posts above.

Somewhere on here are some posts about this subject. I thought it was gran and a couple of us measured ours and posted those results. I have been looking for it since you posted but have not had any luck. I thought it was in Gran's thread but at over 1000 replies it is a little hard to find. I also used the search feature here and tried several different ways of spelling gunnell, gunwale, gunnel, cockpit, depth, and so forth. Lots of stuff popped up but not the info I was looking for. I can't remember what mine measured at but I do remember it changed because of the shear line curve and combing edge starting about halfway up. If I remember correctly at the transom mine is about 18 inches and then drops to around 16 1/2 a few feet forward then rise again to around 18 1/2 at the console. The main thing to remember is it is a curve and the measurement changes and mine is an 83 and this might not be true for all years.

On an aside, on this site just because you don't immediately get an answer doesn't mean someone isn't trying to help. If you had stated the question like Seabob replied it would have made the search a little easier. Don't forget it was 3 days before you answered CBs question. One other thing, at the stern my hull has boxes and the first link you posted that model has boxes at the transom as well. So on my model and the one you posted the cockpit depth at the stern corner could be as low as 3 inches.
