Just wanted to post a couple of "before and after" shots.

Before:

After:

Before:

After:

Slowly making progress on the rigging.  Got my 2 gauge battery cables run from the console back to the engine.  Should finally have some power to the engine :D   Got my batteries in place under the console.  Now it is on to try and re-wire most everything    This by far will be the hard part   I saved my self a ton of money doing it this way.

Hope to splash her within the next couple of weeks.  I am anxious to see how much the stern comes up when she floats.

You're killing me!

I snapped a Bennett hydraulic line Sunday morning at the ramp because of that splashwell. Lucky we launched 2hrs prior to sunrise and I was able to reuse the fitting.

I really need to get rid of all that crap back there.

Yours Looks Great! I want it now!

Hey Kid......
You better watch yourself or you will end up in the same boat I am in now
After 20 some years of upgrades and misc. repairs ........
I now have a boat that is worth 1/10 of what I have invested  :(
But then...the old girl serves me well, and I have made her fit my needs.......

Now if I could just figure out how to widen the beam by a foot at the stern

BTW JD
Boat looks fantastic  :thumleft:

Don't feel bad Bill, we are all in the same boat   I don't think anyone on this board can justify what they spend on these boats    Mine is an old gal like yours, but she serves me well as yours does, and she does float just like the 50k to 60k boats.

THe problem I have Bill is before I can sell it, it has to be in tip top shape.

My transom has some issues. 2G's added may actually return 2G's when selling this time. I got it for so cheap in the first place.

Regardless, this is my boat now and will be for a few years. It serves me well inshore and offshore.

I forgot to close out this thread with the results from the extra weight being removed.

The below picture indicates the red line being the old water line, and the blue line being the new water line.  Both water lines were taken with no one aboard.  The picture below was taken when I first got the boat.  I haven't actually measured, but looks like the stern came up a couple of inches.  According to my gps, I have gained about 2mph.  Before cruising at 4000 rpms I was running 30mph and now that is 32mph.

Just a couple more shots of my future fishing buddies.

You did a fine job JD.  :salut:

Just what I always wanted in mine. Those old cramped transoms were the only flaw (IMHO) to a great hull.

Enjoy the ride. :thumright:

John, she looks really sweet!  The transom clean-up is what really could benefit these older Aquas.  You guys know I hate rigging out in the middle of no man's land, and your's is well done!  Congrats!

If you need some T-H Marine 2" rigging hose to complete the install, let me know...
