One of the high rate failures is stripped threads and leaking around the sender mount over time.  Since you built the tank would it be feasible to put a boss around the sender hole to double the thickness for greater thread depth? It would be less likely for you to have stripping issues should the sender ever have to come out/go in again...

REALLY nice looking tank!!!!   :salut:

X2 what dburr said, you want more thickness where the sender will be screwed down :thumright:
Are you going to foam it in or use wood blocks to keep it from moving?
Nice looking tank!

I actually did think about that (my old tank was stripped)and now that you guys suggested I will get it done. Yes I do plan on foaming around the tank the boats flipped right now and I'm close to priming and paint my shops heated so I can keep chipping away at it.I'm using the interlux primekote what type profile should I leave for this primer to stick to best? 80 grit or 200 grit paper? Does it matter?

I welded angle to the tank and bolted to my bulkhead but I do plan on foaming also.
