My 1973 22-2, Re-Do
« on: December 09, 2012, 12:03:42 AM »
Im new on here everyone.... so hope I'm in the right section. lol
Just thought Id share my venture of redoing my 73.
I just bought it from a guy last week. I knew nothing about the Aquasport but when I saw the boat, I knew it was a diamond in the rough.
Once I got it home, thanks to the internet, I can see that this boat is a true contender in all aspects of boating. Not to big and not to small.
As I go along I am sure my new CA members will be able to shoot me in the right directions.
I look forward to being apart of the Classic AquaSport family.
Im going to do my best to share photos through the process.
Thanks You!

I Have a serious issue here with under the fuel cell. ;(

Almost readable.

Some rough work was done here!

This boat looks to be very original - to include the green rubrail and deck color.
Do you have any pics of the forward inside of the boat?

Welcome aboard!

You have found a nice boat! Can you supply us the hull #? It is located high on the transom on the port-side corner.

Thanks :salut:

Just the front casting deck is fine.  Trying to see what that wood is up front.

She looks beautiful. Nothing a little botox won't cure :thumright:

They were running a portable tank. Please don't run the big tank at this time.

Before you do a whole lot...read all of the rebuild threads. A hull/deck removal shortcut was discovered fairly recently that will save a great deal of time and money, if you go the full rebuild route.

You have a Private Message(PM).

THANKS for joining :rendeer:

Gran- What "shortcut" are you referring to? The only recent thing I've noticed people talking about is how the flatback stringer system is "1 piece" that is laid in the hull,,, but this boat appears to be a v-hull. Did I miss a different post that you're referring to?

Thanks and I appreciate the input as always!

Wardy,
Welcome aboard, she is indeed a sweet 22-2!  See you're from Apopka, want to congratulate the Apopka High Blue Darters on beating Dr. Phillips in the class 8 semis!!  My house was pretty much midway between the 2 schools off Apopka-Vineland.  I'm sure Warren Sapp is proud!

You've found the best site out there, so any questions, ask away!!
