I remember Roy Leep. Anyone remember the Mullet Inn on Courtney Campbell Cswy. I loved that place. They smoked mullet and kept it warm until it was served hours later. They had what looked like a horizontal freezer, but it keep the mullet warm instead of cold.

Had some special dishes like sea turtle, that you probably can't get now.

Mullet Inn?   don't recall that one. Was it next to the Tanga Lounge?

Now THIS is a quality de-rail!!!

What amazes me.  I am old enough, and came down here often enough, to not only remember the old Skyway when it was a single span, but to also have seen the second span built...and O'Neills was there way back when...

Mullet Inn

I believe the owners name was Touchton, and it was one of the main buildings on the causeway back in the mid 70's. It was right next to a bait shop. It had a smokehouse right next to the restaurant. I think after it was knocked down a tex-mex restaurant was built there.

It was really a landmark on the causeway, as there wasn't much there back them. There was also a bar called Charann's(sp) that was noted for steak sandwiches. On the Clearwater side there was a bar/crab shack where the beach is now at.

This was before the causeway was remodeled with all the large boulders along the shoreline, and paved access roads were along the shoreline. The ramp was there but it was a mudhole parking lot.

Mullet Inn mantra  “The fish we serve today, Slept last night in Tampa Bay.”

Google is a wonderful thing.  I remember it now, my father hated mullet so we didn't go there.

Gotta love Fernando's landmark map being based on a nasty nudy bar!     OK I remember the Skyway when it became a single span again!  LOL   Speaking of the Skyway how about Skyway Jack's in the original building?   What about Chief Charlies?

If anyone ventured to the southern side of Tampa Bay, Cortez in particular, A.P. Bell and Starr fish markets.  The flounder you bought in the afternoon was caught that morning...

Yeah, I know, a further de-rail, but AMI IS connected to Tampa Bay...

I wonder if that was a later sign. In this ebay ad there is a photo of the building but the sign is different.
