I knew all of that except the animation of the direct injection makes sense as to why they do so much better on fuel.

Yep, the DI, is the kitty's butt, pretty much invented and perfected by Tohatsu,whom IMO, builds the best 4 stroke available, plus they include all controls,
Aquasport 200 CC Pro, 200 Merc,15hp Honda,Hydrostream Varmint Bassboat,2.4 Merc Bridgeport, Shadow VT200, tunnel hull,merc., 225 Promax.
