Bridget called around 5:30. Surgery went well, nothing unexpected, good news.

She was waiting for the final report after he came to in recovery....wiggle toe test, etc.

She said she'd call by 8.

8:05, the phone rings....By Golly it's Lewis

He sounded good, was in good spirits, toes wiggling fine, good deal.

He said the pain was pretty heavy, but he had a push button for that.

Great news, get well soon bro :thumright:

I called in a special crew Lew.  Let me know if they don't treat you right.

Ah, the ole push button pin killer administration...found out about that during Maggie's ordeal!

Go Lewis, you'll feel like a different man when it's all said and done!  Of course, the team JJ has ready will make you feel like a different man as well...

I talked with Lewis a little while ago - he's hurtin' for certain!  But the surgery went as expected and the pain should subside over the next few days.  He's got the button to push, but that does not have much effect on the deep pain.

Keep Lewis in mind and give him a call if you can - he will be in the hospital for the next couple days and life there is kinda boring...

Yep,
I buzzed him late this afternoon. He was doing quote "a bladder drain".
Says the numbness in his leg is gone so the fileting appears to be working.

Good luck again Lew.

Lew just called. He is in good spirits and doing fine, as well or better than expected. Bridget was in the room on speakerphone.  She reiterated the good news.

Lewis's attitude was buoyed this evening with the calls from his buds CJ and CB. He was uplifted by your phone calls guys :thumright:

He is getting along. But he is in pain. He described the feeling in his lower back as "an imbedded lead ingot, 2 1/2 inches tall by 8 inches wide, and it hurts like hell."

Bridget is hanging right there.

Answering PM inquiries for cards, best wishes:

Well, I just spoke with him, our Thursday update is it feels like a chunk of wood stuck in his back?  So I'm guessing thats better than a lead Ingot  But he was up and walking a little, with a walker.. so things are progressing... He sounded pretty good :thumright:  Best to you and Brigette Lew, keep getting better every day.

Checked on Lew this morning. He had a rough night. Nurse came in around 9 PM and added some kind of solution to his IV, and injected some kind of drug in his hand. He said his hand swelled up like a football and the pain was horrific, felt like his hand was on fire from the inside.

He began to curse her profusely and Bridget lit into her too.

A little while went by and the pain got worse, he said it hurt so bad he was crying. He kept calling for them to come but nobody came.

They are loading the car now so hopefully he gets outta there today before somebody does him in.
