Mice
« on: November 25, 2012, 12:14:19 PM »
Ok, this is out there.    I've never had boat damage from mice, but I know it happens.
I live in the woods on Cape Cod, so they're out there.   Any hints or tips on what do?
I store it double covered, out doors.  Ken

The exterminators use a poison that makes the rodents very thirsty. As soon as they drink water, they perish.

I would guess that mice are attracted to wire insulation, just like squirrels.  So the key, it would seem, is to keep them OUT of your boat!  A good, tight fitting cover, and plug off your t/hulls.  Shrink wrap tape works good for this.  Also tape off your engine cowling and and entrances into it...

Would've been fun to snag it with an alligator clip...and a string attached to it...
