The Iron Dome is an Israeli evolution of the US Patriot missile system that has been around for a while.  But I would guess Israel will be signing up for the CHAMP/EMP weapon as soon as they can get it...

Can you imagine what would happen if Iran or Venezuela or N. Korea or (fill in the blank) had smuggled 1000+ rockets into Tijuana and started shooting into San Diego (and Camp Pendleton)?
