« on: May 08, 2006, 04:56:21 PM »
An author from Boating Magazine contacted me today. He's looking to interview some 22 owners for an upcoming article.

Let me know if you want to see your name in print. Don't forget to put a plug in for ClassicAquasport.com!

Is he looking just for CC's, or other 222 Aquasports as well?

Sounds like a good chance to get the word out to the newer generation on a real fishing boat!

In all the AS line, the 22-2, in my book, is the spine of the brand.  It was the first design off the board for Fred Coburn's new company back in the '60's.  The 22-2's were designed for and by Floridians for sneaking into skinny water fishing spots while being capable of running in some genuinly dirty weather.  That so many are still in harness some 40 years later speaks for itself.

Nice to see you again Capt!  If I recall rightly, you & Mrs. were expecting... Hope all's well.  Best to Wilson too!

One other thing...

Arrange somehow to get the the writer out on one our boats.  An afternoon's  fishing and a beer or two on the way in at sunset will help him collect his thoughts and choose the right words.

A restoration-in-progress would be great in the article!
Will show how dedicated (or demented) we are.

i'm curious why capt said 22 owners? I can see manufacturer specific articles, but size and models?? Loyalty to AS of course, but there are a few brands from the 60's and 70's that people are drawn to. My curiosity is sparked, please fill us in captain!!

Some of Tommy's (Hammerhead Marine) rebuilds should definitely be looked at.
