It is downright SHOCKING how many stupid people are out there.  Modern society and medicine is actually degrading the species.  The reason is most of these idiots would simply have not been able to survive long enough to breed.

Ain't that the truth.  47%, or is it 52% now.  

I have forgotten the plug a couple of times.
I forgot to take the transom strap off, once.
I put one in the water by myself and the bow line came loose and I had to swim for it.
I put one in the water by myself and the bow line came loose and the wind blew it back to the dock.
I put one in the water too fast once and the wife did not think to wrap the line around a post or cleat and she was not about to let go of the line.  (you finish the rest of the story)
I have started the motor many times without remembering to trim down first (mostly shallow water fishing).
But I ain't never launched a trailer.

I've done most of the things you describe JJ. When a boat flew off the trailer too fast, launched itself and was caught in the wind...got a running start down the dock and....well....that's what I refer to as the "Rocky the Flying Squirrel" story

The bad thing about the one I had to swim after is that it was in February.  It was a warm day for February even in Alabama but that damn water was about 40 deg.  

I forgot!  I also got bit on the ankle by a brown recluse spider that day.  It was under the console.  Missed six weeks of work.  I had a hole in my ankle as big as a quarter and you could see the bones and tendons.

Well John don’t fell to bad. I had to do some thing I thought I would never have to do. Ask a jet skier to retrieve my boat. I was leavening the dock, when I put my sun glasses on. One lens was gone. Soooo I turned around, went back to the dock grab the bowl line and jumped on to the dock rapped it around the rail three times and walked up to the parking lot to see if my lens feel out there. I found it in the ramp. Soooo back down the dock, Just in time to see the boat line slipping back around the rail. A breeze had come up and was pushing the boat away. I ran down the dock just in time to miss the line by only an inch or two. I stood there just watching the boat drift down the creek with the motor still running. I though, just like you, well got to swim for it. When here comes a jet ski. The guy asked if that was my boat. Now normal I would have given him a start answer, like no it belongs to a guy that got pissed off by a jet skier and tied it up and went to get his gun to shot him :evil: . But I had to look him in the eye, with a sheepish look and say yes and then had to swallow my pride  when he ask if I need him to get it for me :( . Now just that question alone would have elicited and really sarcastic remark from me :twisted: . But their wasn’t another boat in sight. So I had to say would you. What was a really saucer pin to swallow, was when he brought it back and I had to thank him. Ruined my whole day.   So yea we all do dumb thingssome times. But not as dumb as lunching the boat and the trail still straped to it.
