I hope you are all having fun
« on: October 12, 2012, 11:31:47 PM »
I hope you are all having fun and staying out of trouble.

After a 78 hour transit from Ft Lauderdale to Isla Mujeres, Mexico I have been working hard in this foreign country.  Just so you wonjt think im slacking, here is a rundown of my day today.  Another tough one tomorrow.

]Rough day today.  10 AM off to look at a boat for a friend who wants to buy it.  Short seatrial in a 33 ft Panga.  Downtown to get some pesos and brunch.

Back to the marina and chatted with the prospective new boat owner.

Siesta.

A few cocktails while the sun sets over Cancun.

Off to the Bahia Tortuga for dinner.
5 cold beers
3 barbecued chicken tortillas
side of guac (excellent)
Side of salsa
2 excellent white Russians for dessert (no mousse available)
Total for food 90 pesos
Total for liquor  240 pesos

Total for dinner  330 pesos  ($26.50 US)

Rough day but I survived....

And tomorrow looks worse.

The crossing was great.  Good weather all the way. We did see some wind and seads (2-3 footers) but we were running downwind.  Most of the time it was less than one foot seas.
We did get a visit from our frinds in the coast guard, but that went well.  The current we were bucking nhad our blistering speed of 8 kinots down to 4.9 over the bottom, at times.

All in all it was a pleasant if long ride.

I had 2 friends come with for the crossing.  All the mechanicals did well with the exception of 2 A/C units.

And yes, the A/p is a wonderful thing.....

Man, you're going to wither away from all that stress and over-exertion. I recommend a couple days of rest before continuing on such a self-destructive endeavor.

Nice pics though.

I had to rest today after yesterdays exausting schedule.  There is always Manana...

This float is right off the little beach in the marina.  Two chairs and a table.  turns out it is an excellent spot to have an afternoon cocktail before your siesta.

A shower is passing by.  There  goes the exterior varnish touch up.  Now what?  maybe a cold beer  is in order....after all, it is after noon.

this is looking east towards the island just before the shower.

this is looking down the lagoon to the south.

Looks like a sweet place to be - like FLORIDA
