Troubleshooting Yamaha Fuel management gage
« on: August 23, 2012, 12:25:41 PM »
My co-worker just purchased from TMC the Fuel Management system for his boat.  Installed gauge and transducer, took it out, everything worked great.  A week later, goes out, and nothing.  I looked at it, and he had the transducer mounted above the Filter head, I thought maybe a little air bubble in there.  He moved it to a low point in the fuel system, still nothing.  Does anyone know what "signal" voltage should be coming from the ducer, AC, DC... range of voltage readings etc... thanks
Posted over on THT also.. we'll see

No experience with the Yamaha version but from other brands:

-Transducer should be positioned in a vertical rise in the fuel line with the fuel flowing UP.
-The tiniest piece of trash can jam the little turbine wheel (if that is the type of transducer).

Yes, the little piece of garbage thought is a possibility, thanks for jogging my memory... We'll check that out.
