Hey folks,I have a chance to pick up a used fishfinder/gps and I wanted to hear your thoughts on this unit. It is a Lowrance LMS 330C. There is one on ebay right now, here is a link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOWRANCE-LMS-330C-HEAD-COLOR-SONAR-FISH-FINDER-GPS-RECEIVER-FISHFINDER-NAVIGATOR-/221076930070?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3379363e16#ht_6146wt_1139. I'm not certified to operate this thing yet but I do have the manual and a great chance to take this unit with me on vacation to shake it down. I really just want simple GPS charting ability and a color fishfinder, which this unit has both. This seems to be a nice upgrade from the basic hummingbird that I currently have. What do you guys think? Thanks a bunch for your opinions!
Are you aware that this is only the head unit? It has nothing with it. If you were replacing an exisiting Lowrance Install, it would be pretty good so you wouldn't have to tear into everything for a new system. You have a Humminbird currently, that means you will have to locate all the equipment for this unit?? Could get expensive. Here is an amazon link http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... =LMS-330C+ and thats not the antenna
I can't speak for that Lowrance model, but I have a 10yr old Lowrance LCX-18C (thanks Capt. Bob) sounder/plotter combo that works great. If you go with the used model, use the money you saved and buy a navionics chip- those chips make any GPS much better.

It has the bracket(s), transducer, gps antenna, and cables so I'm sure this is the whole enchilada. I appreciate the heads up though!
