Manual Lever on Primer Solenoid - 1986 175 Johnson

I bought an early-eighties 200ccp with 1986 175 Johnson over the winter and I'm just getting it sorted out now.   Got the engine started yesterday but I am not clear on the small lever on the primer solenoid.  The solenoid sits on the starboard side of the engine.  At the moment I'm not sure if I have it "ON" or "OFF".  

If you look at a parts diagram of the engine, I believe the lever is #27 on the intake manifold fiche section.

Any thoughts?

Anyone home?

I have a 1981 200ccp and will need a fuel tank sooner than I thought.  I expect the best way is to remove the old one for measurements.    But just being hopeful: can anyone say for certain what the tank size in these was and where to get one?  Any possibility there is someone making a drop-in replacement?

I know this is wishful thinking but a guy can dream, can't he?

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking at but it is a primer solenoid.

Most tank builders shown have built Aqua replacement or furnished OEM to Aqua. They have dimensions but can also build custom.

I merged your posts because the tank inquiry was placed in the CCP registry. You'll get a better response here. A lot of tanks have been replaced by members on this Forum. We kinda have that aspect of rebuilding down

There are no drop in replacements. You have to yank the tank anyway; have one custom built to match the original exactly. $10 per gallon to build one.

I think your tank should be the same size as what was in my 200xf that I replaced.  It should hold 73 gallons and is 72" long.  I have a drawing for it.  As already mentioned the rule of thumb is about ten dollars per gallon.

Thanks all - especially Cap't Bob for extra patience.  Very helpful links.

I have run the boat now in the water vs on the hose.  Seems to be ok, starts right up, runs ~32-35mph at 4750 rpm.   The biggest fuel tank issue is that the sending unit is sketchy. I did get enough corrosion off it to get it working but I can't get it out for replacement.   I'm now hoping it lasts the season and I'll get into it in the fall/winter and get the tank replaced.

Again, thaks for the info.  Will probably got the take it out/measure/replace it route.
