Welcome aboard Bender!

Bob has provided a good link to all things foam.

On the rebuild, most keep the trapezoid stringers intact, cut off the stringer tops, dig out the wet foam, and dry the substrate thoroughly.

Tab and glass inside the stringers, then tab and glass the outsides. Then use pourable closed cell foam internally, careful with the 3X expansion. The pourable closed cell foam is available from Great Lakes, West, etc.

Then top the stringers with 1/2 inch glassed nidacore. Provides hard wide beef to the floor above.

Tank, then the rigging tubes, then the deck.

Anyhow...

Welcome aboard!

I think US Composits has the best prices, I used the 4LB foam for the stringers in my boat.

Take a look at the link to my blog below to see the stringer pour.

well, make sure you budget for a lot more ducks than anticipated, because the bills get expensive. get it?

Like fletch170,(and I thought the funnies only came on Sunday) I got my foam and epoxy at uscompsites.com, I also got my glass cloth at boatbuildercentral.com, both were easy to deal with, good shipping...boatbuilder also has videos posted of transom rebuilds, just in case you don't get enough of them on here..Having a plan will be helpfull, just be ready to adapt to what you find as you take it apart, it's never as it seems  I still haven't added up the total cost on my rebuild and don't really know if I want to

I purchased my boat for $1500, which included a trailer. Got my motor for 2K. I added everything else up (kept a build book of every single thing I bought), and it looks like I'll be into this thing for about 9 grand all said and done.

Strange...the transom was solid and dry, but the stringers were basically filled with oatmeal. Anyways, as stated, the plans change quickly when you start peeling back the layers of the onion.

However, I have to say, It will be basically a brand new boat, and somewhat unique. For 9 grand, and 10 billion brain cells killed by poly fumes, I got one cool boat.
